CAMPAIGN: Redesigning the ball courts – and saving trees

We redesigned the ball courts refurbishment to retain vistas across the park and keep mature trees, including the central Dawn Redwood.

Designs commissioned by the previous council involved building a tall structure that would have blocked views and restricted public access to the area, not to mention chopping down several matures trees and closing off some well-used paths.

We convened a series of meetings involving sports bodies, officers, users and representatives of other amenity groups, and came up with the successful solution you see today.
